Although Jillie does not like Valentine’s Day because of a distressing event in her past, she really needs lots of people to buy flowers from her shop in order to celebrate with their loved ones. But a piece of jewelry with possible magical capabilities might offer her the chance to feel another way about the holiday based on love.With the approach of Valentine’s Day, there will hopefully be more customers coming to the flower shop owned by Jillie. When a business which sells chocolate moves into the shop where she had stored extra items, its owner finds the bracelet that her grandmother had given to her. Jillie had always been fascinated by the five crystal charms on it, and her relative had even said they would grant wishes. Yet she thinks there could not actually be any truth to this statement.
A VALENTINE’S WISH is a delightful short story filled with heartfelt honesty, very likable characters, and a few mysterious happenings. Jillie and the new shop’s owner, Jeff, have some insightful discussions, and I found these two to have spirited personalities. The whole story had me smiling as I read about the daily occurrences in the lives of this couple, and my grin got even bigger when the book ended. Denisa Carroll has written a captivating novella about enchanting love. - 4.5 Stars
